Not to be that guy but this is screaming unsafe. This is not proper caning and those jars are not sealed

Don’t know why they bother with making the water hot. Do it like this but all cider no vinegar and then just throw it in the fridge. Also, brown sugar IMO.

Pickled onions are so massively overrated. They’re already great, why sully them with gross ass vinegar.

Looks good, but I think I’d add a bit of onion to boost the flavor.

Hope she learns proper knife technique before she cuts off the end(s) of her finger(s).

Quite a popular thing in Ukraine and probably Eastern Europe in general. My mom always adds it on top of matjes, to salads, or we can just eat it on its own instead of pickled tomatoes, mushrooms, and other stuff. We do a tonne of pickling in Eastern Europe; in our flat in Ukraine, we still have a storage room that is solely dedicated to jarred food(Mostly cucumbers, tomatoes, currants, cherry and peach “kompots”) Even the war didn’t beak these jars.

Why not just make the pickling liquid and then pour it into the jars this is so much extra work to try and look cutesy for a video

We do this it is so easy! Pickled red onions are great on a lot of dishes including tacos and rice bowls!
